What this tool helps you find
Choose a start date and end date to count elapsed calendar days, weeks, approximate months, and weekdays. Weekday counting excludes Saturdays and Sundays.
Formula
Elapsed days = end date − start date. The end date is exclusive in the elapsed count.
Worked example
There are 7 elapsed days from Monday to the following Monday.
Common mistake
Elapsed days use standard date subtraction, so the end date is not counted as a full extra day. Public holidays are not removed from the weekday estimate.
When to use it
Measure a project duration, time between appointments, or the number of weekdays in a period.
